I’m Dawn, and that’s Kris beside me—we’re the riders behind the ride, and together we built Avvento from the ground up.
This is Meeshu—my Sheepadoodle, my service dog, and the heart behind it all.

​

We knew from the start that we’d be keeping one puppy from that litter—one who would be trained to assist me as my service dog. That puppy turned out to be Meeshu.
But even before she was born, I knew something deeper.

​

If it was her job to dedicate her life to helping me thrive, I needed to make sure hers was just as full, rich, and meaningful.

​

Because of my disability, I couldn’t give her the long park walks or hikes or the kind of freedom most dogs enjoy.
But I also couldn’t accept the idea that her life should be all work and no wonder.

​

She deserved more than just a job.
She deserved to have joy of her own, new places to explore, and moments that belonged entirely to her.

​

So that’s when we set out to build something that didn’t exist.
Not a crate. Not a carrier.

But a ride designed for her—safe, comfortable, and right by my side.

​

It took time—years of trial and error, redesigns, and determination before we were ready to bring our vision to others.

​

That’s when Avvento was born.
Not just as a brand, but as a way to honor the dogs who walk beside us—and the humans who refuse to leave them behind.
